Pro Shift Rear Derailleur Mk1

Klein used several different gear manufacturers on their bikes; you could use others, too. One of the manufacturers that made compatible parts in the mid-1990s was Precision Billet from Santee, San Diego, California.Their parts became popular with many mountain bikers, and some even found their way onto Klein rider’s bikes.

They were renowned for their looks, but they were costly. The one in the picture is a Precision Billet, early version Proshift Rear Derailleur in Black

Another manufacturer that used to produce beautiful-looking C.N.C. Deralliuers was Paul Components in Chico, California. The first Powerglide version had the name Paul engraved on the face plate like in the picture.

They were serviceable, and you could replace almost every piece down to the bushings.

Although expensive and exquisite in appearance, they sadly couldn’t compete with the quality of Shimanos M950 RD.
